Croats (called Sokci), Hungarians and Serbs (once called Raci) have been living in this area for a long time. Germans and Jews used to live here until World War II. This area has been an intersection of different cultures and people from time immemorial.
Nowadays, after all migrations (World War II, Croatian War for Independence) there have been living 38% of Croats, 38% of Hungarians, 18% of Serbs and 6% of other people.
